Mammut footwear size guide
To accurately determine your size, we recommend measuring the length of feet in millimeters.
- Stand against a wall or other 90-degree vertical plane on the floor with your full weight, heel touching the wall/plane.
- Mark where the thumb ends.
- Measure both feet. If your feet are different length, choose the larger foot size.
- See the table below.
For hiking shoes, we recommend choosing a shoe at least 1 - 1.5 sizes larger than your everyday shoe size.
In hiking shoes, the toes must not touch the shoe!
This is because after walking for a long time your feet will swell and an otherwise good sized shoe will start to feel tight and short! This is the most common cause of sore feet and toes. In more serious cases, one may even lose their toenails due to an inappropriate hiking shoe size.
Example: Measured foot length in millimeters 250 mm or EU 40. Hiking shoes should be chosen from 260 mm or EU 41 1/3 or UK 9.
